DIY Studded Phone Case

I've long wondered if I were quite badass enough to own a studded iphone case.  But since I had lots of extra studs lying around and more of those clear cases from Amazon, I figured I'd give it a shot.

I bought 4 of these beauties at the beginning of the summer for $1.30 each and I have decorated 3. (guess I should share the other two!)

I started by spray painting the case white.  I folded back all the prongs on the studs so that that would lay flat and then I used a glue gun to glue them on (although, next time I would use super glue or something else).

I think I will finish it off by spraying a clear coat over top just to help seal it all on.  But for now I am going to start my new book...

Starfish Hair Clip

I have seen this beautifully beachy little clip around tumblr and pintrest all the time and I have been dying to make my own.  I knew it would be a simple DIY, the biggest challenge was hunting down the little french barrettes I used.  But of course after a long wander around Michael's I found some.  I also found the starfish I wanted to make the clips with.  The only other thing I needed was some hot glue.

Now I found that a lot of the starfish at Michaels were broken, so I decided to fill the back of mine with hot glue before attaching the clip.  I did this to make them more stable and to create a flatter surface to stick the barrette on.

After that dried, I added the barrette on the back.

Time to rock it beach, pool or lake side....

I made two different sizes, the bigger one for a half-up hairdo in the back and then a smaller one to pin up the front of my hair.

Hope everyone's having a fantastic summer!!
