90's Couple Halloween Costume - Kelly Kapowski and Zack Morris

Last year my boyfriend and I went as the famous 90's TV show couple from Saved by the Bell.  One of our favourite shows growing up (it was always on in the morning right before leaving for school), we decided it would be a unique costume and went to work (well I did)!

For Kelly:
I thrifted a pair of mom jeans and a grey pullover.  I picked up some cheap white tennis shoes, a pair of black suspenders and a white lace bandeau at Ardenes.  I also bought a wig (from a costume store) in hopes to mimic the signature bangs she always rocked.. but it didn't exactly work out.

For Zack:
I thrifted some light wash jeans, a huge dress shirt (baggy is necessary) and bought a plain grey shirt at Walmart.

First, the grey pullover got an iron on Bayside Tigers logo that I found on Google Images.  I used some printable iron on t-shirt transfers for this (just follow the directions on the box).
Next, I cut the neck out of the sweater to give it a severe over the shoulder neckline.
I also cut the mom jeans into high waisted shorts, rolled at the bottom.  To do this, line up the crotches of the jeans and a pair of shorts you already own and cut along the leg.
The bandeau I had was a little skimpy so I added some stretch lace to the top and bottom of it in order to get more coverage, I simply hand-stitched this on.
The sweater is optional, but I found it helpful because it can be so chilly in October... once we got to the bar I took it off and tied it around my waist (totally acceptable in the 90's).

The only work that Zack's costume required was the shirt (made the same way as the sweater) and I slightly bleached the jeans for a more acid-wash look.

aaand.... couple photoshoot!

I apologize for image quality.. they are all taken off of Facebook since my laptop was stolen shortly after this and I lost the original copies of the photos.

I stinking love Halloween.. and I love couple costumes more.  I always try not to take things too serious and I never want to be something everyone always sees!  My roommate didn't even know who we were but we did find an AC Slater at the bar, which was amazing!

What are you guys being for Halloween this year?  Or is it always a secret until the big reveal?
