Welcome to That Flour Child!

Well guys its official! I hope that everyone has found their way to the new website, you will find all your favourite blog posts are still here!  I have slowly but surely been changing the links on my pins from this website so that you are redirected to the post here rather than getting "this blog has been removed."

Shirt: DIY, Jeans: Cheap Monday, Wedges: Target, Necklace: Ardenes

I very obviously have some other tune ups to do to get this site to where I want it to be, but I want to start blogging more regularly since I am only doing some schooling online part-time.  I wanted to get posting under the new name so I decided to switch it over now!  Hope you guys will stick with me and are as excited about the new changes as I am!

Changes Coming this Week!

I am renaming the blog this week to thatflourchild.blogspot.ca.  I have been wanting to make the change for a while now but also loved being One Broke Student.  As I am taking some time off of school to decide what I really want to do in life, I have decided that I can no longer carry on the Broke Student name.  I want to change to something that I can stick to for as long as I continue to blog (which I hope is a long time!)

Thank you to everyone that has followed me this long, and I will try to make the transition as smooth as possible.  Please follow me on twitter or instagram for updates: @rmahxo on both.

Bath and Body Works | Fall Haul

I am a sucker for Bath and Body Works and I always get sucked right in whenever the season changes.  So obviously, with all the fall scents out I had to do a little shopping but I did feel it was a tad early so I resisted (kind of).

I picked up two 3-wick candles: Marshmallow Fireside and Sweater Weather.

Marshmallow Fireside is always one of my favourites, its key notes include: toasted marshmallow, smouldering woods and warm vanilla. Plus how cute are those little leaves on the lid ?!

Sweater Weather is another fall staple for me, with key notes of fresh sage, crisp apple and juniper berry it puts me right in the fall mood.

Next I picked up two mason jar candles to try some new scents, I didn't want to commit to the full 3-wick for these ones incase I didn't like them!

First up is Tailgate, which is more of a masculine scent but sometimes its nice to have the option.  The key notes are creamy lavender, spanish pepper and cedar wood (mmmm manly lumberjack).  Second up is Wasabi Apple which is a very different scent to me, but I was surprised at how much I liked it!  Key notes are baked fuji apples, hot wasabi and touch of cinnamon.

I also left the store with a promo they had called the Pumpkin Pail!  It was $25 when you spent $30 or more and is filled with a little bit of everything ($75+ value)

It included hand soaps (both foam and antibacterial) in Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, which isn't my favourite because it kinda punches you in the face with sugary scents (pumpkin waffle batter, powdered sugar and pure maple syrup).  It also had a body lotion, shower gel and body mist in Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, which actually grows on me each time I use it.  Key notes are harvest pumpkin, spiced clove and vanilla cream, much lighter and easier scent to wear than the waffles one.  It also included a cute pumpkin shaped loofa and 3 mini candles: Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Spiced Pumpkin Cider (spiced cider, cinnamon crystals and pumpkin puree) and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin.

It does make a great starter to get your bathroom and home ready for fall!

Ipsy Bag - September 2014

Another Ipsy bag this month! No video though ...
For those of you that do not know, Ipsy is a monthly subscription for $10 a month, you can sign up using my link here:  http://www.ipsy.com/r/alx5

I was really impressed with my bag this month! It seemed like things were more full-sized than sample, which is always great.  My bag included:

Crown Brush: Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush, a double ended brush is always great for travelling!

Briogeo: Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask: I am always down to try a hair mask, because I dye my hair and the ends are always dry!

NYX: Hot Singles Eye Shadow: This is the shade Bling, a nice silvery colour which will be great for fall.

Pacifica 7 Free Nail Polish, in the shade Red Red Wine. Again perfect for fall, this is the first ever vegan beauty product I've ever had so I'm excited to see if it measures up!

Hikari lipstick in Cabernet, a matte, darker berry red than I would normally go for but want to try for fall! A very poor swatch below: (anyone with tips for swatting pictures, please leave them below! mental note to self: look up tips & tricks)

What did you guys think of your tipsy bag this month?!

Olympic Themed Dessert Table

For those of you that follow me on instagram, you would have seen a picture of a dessert table I did for my best friend for her birthday party.  For those of you that don't follow me, its @rmahxo.

So I decided to share some more photos of it on here because I was so so so proud of everything I got done for it!

I started off with some peanut butter chocolate cupcakes (because they're Jill's favourite) which I decorated with a gold medal (Reese's pieces with a Fruit Roll-up ribbon).

Next up I made baked donuts with a vanilla glaze and dipped them in the different colours of the olympics rings (red, blue, green, yellow and black).  I made 5 regular sized donuts for the "flag" and then a bunch of mini donuts as well.

I also made a bunch of chocolate dipped strawberries, in dark, milk and white chocolate.

I added jars of candy in different shapes to go along with the colour theme as well.

And finally I made some Olympic torch inspired cake pops.  Which are just cake pops in a sugar cone, dipped in orange melting wafers and decorated with Fruit Roll-Up flames.

If anyone wants specific recipes let me know in the comments below!

This party if you haven't guessed was a Beer Olympics for Jill's 22nd birthday.  My friend and I were France and dresses up as mimes!

Despite the rainy weather it was one of the best nights of the summer!
