Big Holiday LUSH Haul

If you guys follow me on instagram or twitter (both @rmahxo) you will know that my love of LUSH is quickly turning into an obsession.  Since the closest LUSH store to me is nearly 2 hours away I decided to do my first online order, since their shipping is only $6, it is probably cheaper than me driving to the mall anyway (plus I am not tempted to spend a bunch of other money at other stores in the mall!).  My package got here in only 3 days even though it said 5-7 days and although I was a tad worried some of the bath bombs might break I was pleasantly surprised that they were all in one piece!

I guess I'll start out with the bath bombs I got...

Golden Wonder This one seems to be pretty popular with a lot of bloggers and you tubers, so I got myself two of them.  If you shake it you can actually hear the surprise rattling around in the middle.  It has citrus and champagne scents in it and turns your bath an amazing colour.

Shoot for the Stars another one that turns your bath a beautiful colour and is also citrus scented but a little sweeter.

Luxury LUSH Pud which is supposed to look like Christmas pudding is absolutely massive.  It's scented with soothing lavender and is one of the most colourful bombs I've seen.

Father Christmas, this one smells like Christmas and I've heard turns your bath into a bright green colour!

Northern Lights this is the one I've been trying to get my hands on my past two trips to LUSH and is another reason why I decided to just order online!  I've seen pictures of this one all over instagram and cannot wait!  It also has a very nice floral scent.

Sparkler I've already had this bath bomb and loved how glittery it made the bath water so I grabbed another one just because.  It smells like lemon-rose perfume if you're wondering!

Next onto the Bubble Bars....

Holly Golightly starting it off with the Christmas-y of them all, this one is covered in glitter and has an amazing spicy scent.

Christmas Eve Although this is not the prettiest of the bubble bars I fell in love with the scent of this one on one of my trips to the store so I just had to have it.  The scents are supposedly ylang-ylang and jasmine but to me it just smells amazing and Christmas-y

The Christmas Penguin Not only is he adorable but he smells like orange blossoms!

The Christmas Hedgehog After much debate with two of my best friends, this is indeed supposed to look like a hedgehog.  He feels very buttery which is probably due to the cocoa butter in him!  He also smells like ylang-ylang and jasmine.  I'm sure he will leave me feeling silky smooth!

That's all for this haul! These should last me until after Christmas I hope!!
What's your favourite LUSH product?

DIY Winter iPhone Case

In an effort to use up the clear plastic iPhone cases I ordered on Amazon, I have made a winter-appropriate phone case.  Now you can't tell from these photos but we got a serious dumping of snow up here in Canada (it's all melted now) but it really made me feel like I couldn't keep my Autumn phone case on.

I started this case by painting it entirely in the China Glaze textured polish from last year's holiday collection entitled There's Snow One Like You.  It's a really cool white textured polish that looks like snow but I couldn't see myself actually wearing it on my nails (you can see my swatch here.)

Since I didn't think that was sparkly enough I added some iridescent glitter on top and sealed it all with a clear coat of spray paint.

I tried to get a photo to show the texture and glitter on the case, but the sun had already gone down so this isn't the greatest photo.

I then picked up the little snowflake decals from Michael's and used Krazy Glue to glue them on, I used a lot because I didn't want them to all off later!

me looking severely unimpressed by something on my phone ....

Lime Crime Velvetines - Swatches on Lips

Near the end of the summer, I decided to order a couple lip products from Lime Crime.  Although you won't catch me in the crazy colours they offer, they do have a lot of totally wearable colours.  They are quite bold and may not be for everyone.

First of all they come in an adorable box.

I had heard a lot of hype about their Velvetines which are liquid lipsticks that dry completely matte.  These lippies do not move once they're there and they truly do dry completely matte!

I purchased two colours, Wicked which is a burgundy-red, perfect for a vampy lip and Suede-berry which is a coral red.

Again with the adorable packaging, I love the floral lids on these lipsticks as well as the frosty tubes.

First one I tried out was the Suede-berry,

and next up wicked,

What do you guys think?  They have so many options on their website, I would love to try out some of their colourful eyeliners next!

November Ipsy Bag 2014

Another month, another Ipsy.  For those of you that don't know Ipsy is a subscription service where you get mailed 5 beauty products + a cute makeup bag each month for $10 (~$15 for us Canadians once you put in shipping).  If you are interested in signing up you can use this link: www.ipsy.com/r/alx5

This month Ipsy teamed up with Forever 21 and their new beauty collection to create a very glittery bag perfect for the holiday season in my opinion.

First item I received is a pearl liquid highlighter from TEMTU, this is the smallest sample I have ever seen.  I realize a little will go a long way with this but I have never used a liquid highlighter and am a little afraid of it.

I also received a sea salt instant glow powder exfoliant by clariSEA.  This is another product I have never tried before, you mix this powder exfoliant with your favourite cleanser, and it smells of citrus which I love.  I am super excited to give this a go.

Another product I am very excited about is the Be a Bombshell Cosmetics eye base in Submissive it's a really pretty gold cream shadow base.  Since I love my Maybelline Colour Tattoos I am excited to give this one a go.

Marc Anthony oil of Morocoo argan oil volume shine hairspray.  Everyone can use a travel sized hairspray in my opinion, perfect to throw in an overnight bag or just your purse for the day/night!

Finally I received a full size nail polish by Nicole by OPI in the shade Guys & Galaxies.  I have always wanted a silver glitter nail polish but for some reason I always put it off or change my mind and pick up a multicoloured glitter polish because I just think if you're going for glitter you might as well go all out.  This will come in useful for some ombre glitter nails and this one is a bit different in that the bigger glitter pieces are squares rather than hexagons like most glitter polishes which I think makes it a bit interesting.

Overall I am pretty happy with this month's glam bag.  I'm excited that I didn't get an eyeliner or a mascara for a change and scored some full size products!

Miracle 10 Skincare - Day 1 First Impression

I am so excited to write this post!  I was lucky enough to get invited to the Miracle 10 Skincare Blogger's Word of Mouth Event recently #WOFM10 and was able to meet Ashleigh from Murdock Talks, some other fabulous Canadian bloggers and of course Michelle Villett from The Beauty Editor.  Michelle gave us the low down on the beauty and skin trends for this year and we were treated to make up touch-ups from Dior.

But the main reason we were there was to get a skin consultation and learn about their 10 day skincare challenge, which I started last night.  I was informed that I have Delicate/Dry skin type but the two other options for this line are Oily/Acne Prone and Normal/Maturing.  I received a full regime to try and I started last night!

First of all I absolutely adore the packaging, it is so simple, clean and elegant.  Their products are made in Canada and are not tested on animals!  You can check out their website here.

Cleanser I: This is the first step in both the morning and the evening.  This cleanser foams up so nicely and feels really soft on the skin, it was able to remove most of my eye makeup which I was very happy about.  I know I usually say that I like my cleanser to have bit of grit in it because it really makes my skin feel clean, but this cleanser really makes me feel clean.

Toner: Now I have never used a toner before, but after hearing why it is important at the event I really wanted to give it a try.  You simply use a few pumps on a cotton pad and apply to your clean face and neck and allow for it to dry.

Moisturize: I was given the light serum, which I use in the morning after the toner has dried.  I am not crazy about the scent of this when it is first applied, but the scent does fade after a while and I do think that the softness it brings to my skin is worth that little period of not so pleasant scent.

Activate: At night time I was instructed to use a pea size amount of the AHA Cream, which is used to exfoliate dull skin.  It contains lactic acid, vitamin E and hyaluronic acid.  Although these are "acids" the lactic acid is derived from sugar for exfoliation and the hyaluronic actually helps hydrate your skin.  This makes this very gentle but you can definitely feel it working.

Protect: Last but not least we received their SPF 30 Face Sunscreen.  Now being as pale as I am I always wear sunscreen or a moisturizer with sunscreen in it (usually the Aveeno fresh essentials) and Michelle was there to inform us that sunscreen is the most important step for healthy skin which I couldn't agree with more!  This sunscreen is truly amazing, it isn't greasy in the slightest, I have no idea how they managed that but I am so impressed.

Thank's again to Miracle 10 Skincare for having me!  I hope to post a 5-day and 10-day update so stayed tuned for that.
