These adorable little Easter cupcakes are going to help me out...
Where could the eggs be hiding?!
Well INSIDE of course!!
Along with bunnies....
And springtime flowers (for those of you that don't celebrate Easter)
I used two batches of vanilla cake mix and ended up with 30 cupcakes. Split the first batch in half and set the rest aside. Divide that half of the batter into 4 and dye each a different colour.
Take two small loaf pans (I used 13.5 cm x 8.10 cm x 4.93 cm pans) and fill them by alternating the colours.
Bake these until they are cooked through. Once cooled, remove from pans and slice about 1 inch thick.
Use cookie cutters (how I got the flower and bunnies) or a knife (the eggs I cut out by hand) to get the shapes.
Line cupcake tins with colourful liners and fill them about 1/4. Push the shapes into the batter and then fill up until just a little of the shape is showing. Bake them for a little less time than normal. Once cooled, frost them and cover them with sprinkles!
