Clean & Clear Pore Perfecting Routine

I have been pretty lucky to not have too many skin problems to deal with growing up, but I think that everyone feels insecure about even a single spot on their face.  For me, I have a very reliable pimple that shows up at the time of the month, every month on my chin, right in the middle.  Its one of the painful, deep, bright red pimples that dwells under the skin for a few days and then pops up demanding attention.  It used to bother me a lot, and I still find it annoying and painful but it’s also something that happens to a lot of people and you just have to learn to accept it.  Another skin problem that I have almost all the time are the pores on my nose being filled with crud.  Blackheads and just generally gross stuff- I often can stand in front of the mirror and keep squeezing nasty’s out of my pores.  When Clean & Clear reached out to me to try their Pore Perfecting routine, I was more than excited to give it a try.

First up is their Pore Cleanser.  This stuff claims to leave you feeling tingly and clean, which it definitely does.   I was shocked when I first put this on my face about how much it actually tingles. It feels pretty crazy but it’s also awesome.  It really does give you that deep clean feeling.

Next, you can use the Toner for Blackheads.  You apply this with a cotton ball or pad and leave it to dry without washing it off.  I’ve never kept a toner in my skin care routine for very long but I really do enjoy putting it on after washing my face at night time (as long as I don’t fall asleep on the couch binge watching Netflix).

Lastly, I apply my favourite product in the line, their Face Moisturizer.  I use it on the dry areas of my face like around my nose, my forehead and my chin.  It contains salicylic acid, which is an active acne-fighting ingredient so it does double duty.  I’ve been using this every day since I received it since my skin has been very dry this winter and I love it.

Regardless of feeling insecure about various skin problems, I think that feeling beautiful in your own skin is very important. Spots happen to every one and its nothing to get too stressed about.  Sure you might have a big red spot on my chin for a few days. Focus your attention on what you love about yourself. For me, it’s my eyes.  So sometimes I add a little more eye makeup to play up my eyes and draw my attention away from the chin pimple.  A good skin care routine will help keep your skin clear, helping you feel better and letting others see the real you.
